The vintage decor was charming, but the worn sofa and some maintenance issues detracted from the overall experience during our wedding stopover.

perfectly close to parks and charming cafes for weekend strolls
I loved how easily I could walk to Hartham Common, just over half a kilometer away, providing a lovely green space for a relaxing stroll, while the nearby Rose Cafe, only a quick 5-minute walk, was a fantastic spot to grab a coffee and enjoy the atmosphere before heading out to explore the rest of Hertford. the accommodations were well-maintained and offered a warm and welcoming experience that was perfect for my solo adventures. But I wish I had known about the late-night noise from the street, as it made sleeping a bit tricky.

Great Stay but Parking Awareness Needed
We had a delightful stay in a large king room, with spacious layout and comfortable bedding. Just be mindful of the parking rules, as we accidentally got a ticket during our night out. Make sure to set a reminder for parking payment to avoid this hassle!

The King Room offered a decent fan to help with the warmth during a hot night, which was a nice touch. The character of the building with its narrow, steep stairs added a unique charm that’s not easy to find.
Noise from a nearby club came blasting through the open windows, making sleep elusive. The shower thermostat acted up, sending out scalding water that was more of a danger than a delight. The bathroom faucet struggled to deliver a proper flow, and the bathroom lock could be temperamental, leading to a friend getting unexpectedly trapped. Given the steepness of the stairs, the lack of air conditioning made the hot summer night even more uncomfortable, leaving us grumbling at the lack of basic cooling options.

I had a lovely stay recently, the bottomless brunch was delightful with varied tasty dishes and attentive service that kept my glass filled. The clean and bright room made for a comfortable night, although the ceiling was a bit low on the stairs. I'd definitely return!

The Large King Room was super comfortable and had a lovely view from the window. I loved the chill vibes in the garden area and the live music in the evenings. Just a heads up, taller guests might want to steer clear of the 2nd floor since the ceilings are a bit low near the stairs. 🌟

The Queen Room was lovely—clean and well-decorated. I appreciated the little extras like complimentary snacks and bottled water. The TV had Netflix, which was a nice touch. Parking was a bit tricky due to the central location, and the low ceilings in some spots were a little awkward, but overall, it was super comfy and inviting. It felt cozy with great vibes!

The unique architectural features added a charming touch, making the atmosphere feel rich in character. Plus, access to local nightlife was a breeze, allowing for a lively night without straying too far.
Checkout can be an adventure since navigating the steep stairs with heavy luggage is tough for anyone, and those looking for quiet might find the noise from the bar and street disruptive, especially during events. issues with the Wi-Fi made it challenging to get work done, which isn’t ideal for a business traveler. The bathroom setup left something to be desired, like a missing shower curtain leading to awkward showers. Not to mention, the mattress comfort varied, impacting rest quality.
